dude, can you post up how you got the damn center console out? I think that it just pops out, but how the freak did you do it?
You gotta be a little "daring"... I discovered this as I was installing my short shifter!
Hold down shift boot at the chrome collar and pull down. Unscrew shift knob and put it aside.
Remove console cover by pulling up from the bottom to release the lower clips and pull up from the top to release the upper clips.
While being gentle not to bend the silver plastic, wiggle the plastic side to side & up and down (this is where the daring part comes in) and you'll gradually have the thing off.
